Better Days and Attika have been working together since 2015. During this time, Attika has contributed incredible value to Better Days work by ensuring that the people we work with receive essential non-food items and are kept warm during the winter months.
At Gekko, Attika supplied our students with daily nutritious snacks donated by Juice Plus. At TAPUAT, our storage was equipped with enough diapers, toys and baby food for all mothers with infants. During Covid19 we worked tirelessly together to provide Moria’s staff, volunteers and residents with masks and disinfectants and respond to other emergencies. During our many years of work with homeless unaccompanied asylum seeking children, Attika has stood by our side and made it possible for us to distribute basic but critical aid such as warm clothes, shoes, underwear, LUSH soap, and much more. In Moria we did not only distribute emergency clothing packs to hundreds of children, and thousands of tents to families living on the olive groves, we also worked along other actors to put an end to the scabies epidemic which make it possible for children to travel and receive shelter and care in more appropriate environments than the camps.
It is impossible to not admire the hard-work, resilience and commitment of the staff and volunteers of Attika, working around the clock so that millions worth of essentials such as clothing and hygiene products donated from far away make it inside the camps and across Greece in support of disadvantaged communities and other non-profit organizations.
